Heat Treating
Centex Lab's certified heat treat operators perform solution and age hardening heat treatment on as-cast aluminum and magnesium alloys, as well as, alloys such as 2XXX, 6XXX and 7XXX series sheet, plate, bar, extrusions, forgings, alclad and non-alclad materials.
Monthly calibrations and systems accuracy tests are performed to maintain a +/- 10 degree uniformity throughout the work zone. Quench delay down to 7 seconds with a Quench capacity to maintain required rise in temperature. Class 2 Programmable instrumentation to ensure temperature and time uniformity within the pyrometry requirements of AMS-2750.
Centex Lab provides racks and fixtures for adequate circulation within each work zone. Three drop bottom quench solution/aging furnaces and three artificial aging ovens to provide heat treatment of non-ferrous alloys. Dimensions as follows
